ANPR welcomes displaced NPS professionals with free membership

At its February 2025 Board Meeting, the Association of National Park Rangers spent most of its time discussing what is happening to the federal workforce under the current administration. Here are the significant actions and reports from that meeting on February 25, 2025:

     • Approved proposal to give a one-year free ANPR membership (with digital version of Ranger magazine) to any employee displaced by recent actions of the Trump Administration. If you know of anyone so affected, contact them and have them contact ANPR Executive Director Bill Wade at bwade@anpr.org. Bill will send them a link to a membership application form. The membership will commence from the date the application form is received.

     • Approved the strategic plan for 2025. Highest priority objective: Support the wellness of the employees of the National Park Service.

     • Approved the modification of the Natural Disaster Fund. It is now the "Ranger Emergency Relief Fund." Any ANPR member in good standing is eligible to apply for and receive aid to help in the recovery following a natural disaster, or from other emergency (such as being displaced from employment) that results from no fault or responsibility of the member, that has directly impacted their life. This fund is an ANPR member benefit, and the amount of aid will be based on the needs of the individual and funds available. Those wanting to apply for funds should contact ANPR Executive Director, Bill Wade at bwade@anpr.org.  Bill will send them a link to an application form. Donations to this fund also can be made here and selecting the RERF fund.
