Ranger Rendezvous 42

Soar to New Horizons

Last Updated: September 17, 2019 11:22

Basic Information
A Presidential Welcome

It's my pleasure to invite you to Soar to New Horizons and attend the 42nd Annual Ranger Rendezvous. Scenic Everett, Washington will be our host site from which we can explore various National Park Service sites. Some of these include North Cascades, Mount Rainier, and Olympic National Parks in addition to Klondike Gold Rush and San Juan Island National Historic Parks and Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve. We plan to bring back several of our enjoyable events including raffles, trivia, and movie night and various engaging speakers and add a new twist to the hospitality room. You will just have to join us to find out!!! Many members call the Pacific Northwest home and others have spent some time working in the area or exploring the sites. It's easy to see why the majority of members requested this region to hold a Rendezvous. With so many NPS sites nearby, I hope to see a variety of new faces in the audience, taking part in training and lectures and breakout sessions which will provide you with valuable tips and tools to be used both personally and professionally.

A small but mighty contingent of members have been busy planning for RR42 and we can always use more help. Ranger Rendezvous would not be successful with out the support of numerous individuals. Please contact rendezvous coordinator Chris Reinhardt if you are interested in volunteering prior to and/or at RR42. I'd like to thank all those in advance as we are truly grateful for your efforts.

Exhibitors

This annual event would not be possible without the generous support of exhibitors and sponsors who provide ANPR with the funding and supplies necessary to craft a successful event. If you have interest in supporting this event as an exhibitor or sponsor, we would be honored to have you. Please direct any questions to Chris Reinhardt at creinhardt@anpr.org.

ANPR’s membership is comprised of law enforcement rangers, educators, maintenance workers, interpreters, planners, and administrative professionals who are passionate about preserving and protecting our country’s incredible heritage and awe-inspiring landscapes. They range from field level employees to regional and national NPS directors. The Trade Show is an important part of our programming, as it provides an opportunity for members to learn about new equipment, technology, organizations, and services that can help them succeed in their careers.

ANPR would like to extend its thanks to its Rendezvous 41 Exhibitors & Sponsors for their support in Bowling Green.

Local Community

As ANPR seeks to engage with the local community hosting us during our 5 days in Everett we wish to provide our attendees, most of whom will be arriving from outside Washington, a guide to the area. If you'd like to see your business or restaurant featured in our event program and on this map, consider sponsoring our event at the $75 level for placement!

This level of sponsorship will include:

  • Placement on our directory map on our website
  • Links to your address, menu, or other URL
  • Your logo will be included in the event program as an event sponsor
  • Inclusion on local area maps printed and available at the event registration desk

Please see our exhibitor registration page to contribute
The local sponsor program will close once we reach 12 sponsorships

Contact Chris Reinhardt at creinhardt@anpr.org with any questions.

ANPR would like to thank the members of the local community who have offered their generous support of Ranger Rendezvous 42!

Travel Info

In an effort to make Rendezvous as accessible to as many as possible, ANPR is pleased to announce that the Delta Hotels by Marriott property in Everett, WA was specifically chosen for its ease of access.

While being only 40 miles north of Seattle's SeaTac Airport (SEA), Everett is also home to Paine Field Airport (PAE), located adjacent to Boeing's widebody aircraft manufacturing plant, which just this March commenced commercial flight operations with Alaska airlines and was soon followed by United Airlines which together will offer nonstop options to 9 west coast destinations. If you haven't seen the photos, the airport looks like something reminiscent of the glory days of aviation.

Taking an Uber or Lyft from PAE should cost roughly $15-$20.

Nonstop Destinations to Paine Field (PAE)

Seattle Sound Transit Bus

Sound Transit Bus from Seattle to Everett

Should you be coming from outside one of these cites and not wish to have a layover or perhaps are in search of more affordable options, SeaTac offers significantly more nonstop destinations throughout the country. For those of you arriving here, the public transit to Everett is nothing short of remarkable. A simple transfer from Seattle's light rail to a double decker bus will put you just 2 blocks from the hotel for less than $7 each way. So if you'd like to relax after your flight instead of enduring the cost and hassle of a rental car, and escape Seattle's notorious traffic congestion, just jump upstairs to that front row for gorgeous panoramic views of the city and surrounding mountains.

Supernaugh Scholarships

Since 2007, Bill Supernaugh Memorial Scholarships have allowed early-career employees, NPS volunteers, students, and those new to ANPR to experience the annual Ranger Rendezvous and learn about ANPR. Any ANPR member who has not attended a Rendezvous is eligible to apply. Bill Supernaugh was an ANPR life member, an avid supporter of the Association, and an NPS employee for over 40 years. Scholarships are funded by the generous support of ANPR members.

Applications are being accepted through July 15th, 2019, with scholarships being announced by August 1st. If selected, applicants should make every effort to being available for the entire duration of Ranger Rendezvous (October 16-20, 2019).

If selected, benefits include complimentary event registration, 4 nights in a double occupant room at the event property, $300 in reimbursable travel expenses, and a year membership to ANPR.

Note: Any person who applies for a Supernaugh scholarship and is not selected will be able to register at the early-bird rate past the deadline.
