Celebration of Life for Gordon the Warden

A tribute to Gordon Miller, founding member and first president of the International Ranger Foundation, can be found here.

Gordon Miller, founding member and the first president of the International Ranger Foundation, passed away May 27, 2023.
Seldom encountered without his signature Tilley hat and a repertoire of questionable puns, "Gordon the Warden" devoted his life to conservation and advocacy for rangers worldwide. His appetite for off-the-beaten-track travel never faltered, but he always relished coming home to his beloved Peak District. Gordon had an enormous capacity for friendship and storytelling. Curious, life-loving, open, and collaborative, Gordon generously shared his experiences, time, and knowledge with countless others. We are very proud of his legacy to the natural world and ranger services. To us, he was a loving, joyful, and caring dad, brother, and uncle. We will miss him immeasurably.

A celebration of Gordon's life, with a funeral service and burial, will be held at Edale Parish Church on Monday July 10, 2023, at 2 p.m. local time (6 a.m. PDT; 9 a.m. EDT). ANPR members Deanne Adams and Tony Sisto will participate in the service, representing the Association of National Park Rangers.

The service will be live-streamed at this link for those who wish to participate but cannot attend in person.
