The National Park Service surveyed all permanent and term employees during March 2010 as part of a new Workplace Enrichment initiative. The only seasonal employees, however, who were invited to participate were those hired after June 30, 2009. Unfortunately, this left out the vast majority of the approximate 10,000 summer NPS seasonals – those hired earlier than June 30 last year.

The Association of National Park Rangers has addressed this problem by developing its own survey focusing on seasonal employees.

If you expect to be a seasonal NPS employee this year or were a seasonal in your last position with the NPS, we want your views. Members and nonmembers of ANPR are invited to participate.

Visit this link to take the brief survey. ANPR will participate in the NPS Workplace Enrichment committee that will look at the government's survey results and develop responses to them. Our survey results will help us "fill in the gap" and represent the views of seasonals.

If you have questions about this, feel free to e-mail Tom Banks (ANPR Board Member for Seasonal Concerns) at rangertwb@aol.com.
