J.T. Reynolds, superintendent of Death Valley, was the 2005 recipient of NPCA Stephen T. Mather Award.

His 36-year NPS career has included stints at Grand Canyon, Colorado Plateau Support Office and Rocky Mountain; regional chief ranger for Intermountain and North Atlantic regions; district ranger at Everglades; various positions at Yosemite; and environmental education specialist at National Capital Parks.

He began his Park Service career in 1969 as a seasonal patrol ranger at Everglades.

Originally from Galveston, Texas, Reynolds holds a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University, where he majored in recreation and parks management and minored in wildlife science.
