Draft 2006 NPS Management Policies

Nov. 8, 2005

Dear ANPR member:

By now you have probably heard much about the recently released draft 2006 NPS Management Policies, as well as the previous draft revised under Deputy Assistant Secretary Paul Hoffman. You may have also heard commentary in the media and from other groups about the nature of proposed changes from the 2001 policies, and been asked to submit comments yourself through official channels.

As the only organization that represents current NPS employees and partners from all professions and disciplines, ANPR is uniquely positioned to comment as a group on these proposed changes with both specificity and weight. Whether or not you choose to submit comments through official channels or as a private citizen, please consider adding your professional voice, anonymously, through ANPR.

Section by section, here is a redline comparison of the 2001 policies and the proposed 2006 policies. Download these Microsoft Word files and review them carefully.
